Allah (Exalted be He) says in Holly Qur’an,
“You are the best (Ummah-e-Muhammadia) who is created for
humanity to motivate towards good deeds and forbid from bad ones.
(Surah-e-A’al Imran Verse 110)
In the above mentioned verse Allah (Exalted be He) tells us about
two things. First, the stature of Ummah-e-Muhammad and reason
for having such an elevated status. Secondly, what are the duties
assigned to this best Ummah ? About the status it is said “You
are the Best Ummah ” means all the Ummahs from generation
of Hazrat Adam, the most superior, the most refined and the best
one is Ummah-e-Muhammad. Its stature is the highest amongst all
previous Ummahs like Hazrat Nooh, Hazrat Ibrahim, Hazrat Moosa.
The best chosen ones are the servants of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu
Alaihi WA Aalihi Wasallim.
Why this Ummah has been rewarded with such a stature and rank,
such a glory and grandeur? The Holy Qur’an itself gives
the answer that Allah is not only the Lord of the Muslims but
the Lord of Universe. Similarly, Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi
WA Aalihi Wasallam is not only the Mercy for Muslims but the Mercy
for whole Universe. The Lord whose Lordship is for all, His Prophet
Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi WA Aalihi Wasal’lam’s Mercy
is not for one nation only but for all nations of the Universe.
So, Ummah of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi WA Aalihi Wasallim
is beneficial for the whole nations and Universe not only for
Muslims but is beneficial for all humanity. Hence, it is stated
in Qur’an: “Your arrival in the world is not for the
benefits and profits of your own family but your presence is merciful,
beneficial and helpful to all the generation of Adam Alaihi salaam”
For one’s near and dear ones, every one feels and showers
mercy but O servants of Prophet Muhammad Sallallaho Alaihe WA
Sal’lim, your sympathy, forgiveness and mercy should also
be for those who are thirsty for your blood. When rains of Mercy
showers it shower not only over the green crops but also over
the barren deserts and dark forests. Similarly, Ummah of Muhammad
Sallallaho Alaihe Wasal’lim is source of benediction for
all. It is surprising, that the nations who didn’t accept
Islam by Holy prophet Muhammad Sallallaho Alaihe Wasal’lim
are still non-believers. They bear hatred and enmity for Islam
and Holy Prophet but, even then are getting benefits from Islam.
After reading their History before and after arrival of Islam
one can judge by itself of the reality. Either they confess and
accept it or not, Reality is obvious.
The Hindus were divided into castes before Islam. They used to
practice custom of SATTI where, even newly married widow had to
burn alive with the dead body of her husband. She was not allowed
to enjoy the colours of her life or fulfill any of her desires.
Everybody loves its life but nobody used to call for plea against
this cruel and inhuman custom. Parents of bride, her brothers
all used to watch this tragic scene that used to adore her passionately
but, no one could protest and the poor bride had to burn herself
even without enjoying the flowers of prime spring of her life.
When the bright Sun of Islam rose in India, it not only removed
the darkness of Infidelity but also gave a hard blow on this cruel
custom of Hindus. They learned how to give respect to daughters
and started avoiding this cruel custom. There is no difference
between fair and dark, poor and rich in Islam and Islam demands
implementation of these glorious values among its followers.
Caste system was very strong among Hindus. They used to discriminate
nation into four categories. 1- Brahman, 2- Khashtari, 3- Waish,
4- Shudar. Among them, Brahman were considered as the most respectful
and honorable class. Ruling and promotion of religion was the
right only given to this class. Shudar were considered as the
most hateful and low class to be given the status of normal human
beings. If any Shudar somehow used to hear voice of any Brahman,
melted silicon was poured in his ears. And if any Brahman used
to hear voice of a Shudar, they use to cut off tongue of that
Shudar. Hindus were actively involved in these cruel and nasty
traditions. Islam’s beautiful rules are so effective that
today all these inhuman activities are considered hateful and
discrimination of caste has almost diminished in Hindu societies.
This is one of the mercies of Islam for non-believers. As rain
does not make discriminations of places while showering, mercies
of Holy Prophet Muhammad Sallallaho Alaihe Wasal’lim have
covered every tip from earth to the sky. Universe get luck and
hell of the earth changed into paradise. It was full of love,
peace, mercy and integrity. We have not given the crown of being
the best Ummah for granted. We were not like we are today. Allah
has bestowed us with the title of being the best Ummah that others
can also get benefits and profits through us. We should teach
and help them. We are to spread and promote the enlightenments
of Islam.
“You are such a nation who cannot make commitments with
non-believers. You cannot tolerate fuss and fatal actions. Promotes
goodness and restrains for hypocrisy.” (Qur’an)
Here word “hypocrisy” is used, not
bad actions. If bad actions would have been used, we could use
word wrong deeds or illegal actions but word hypocrisy is used.
It meant everything that creates hurdles in the part of mystical,
spiritual, social and political aspects of human life. In the
same way, goodness does not particularly means a good action but
every positive step that produces prosperity and success in the
ways of human mystical, spiritual, social and political dealings.
That grandeur human status and open horizons of brightness for
it. Hence, in this verse Allah has stated those obligations at
Muhammad’s Sallallaho Alaihe Wasal’lim’s Ummah
that could not be denied. If Ummah wants to deny these duties,
it had to leave its grandeur status as well otherwise have to
fulfill the duty. Allah says: “Co-operate in those actions
that are of goodness and sacred. But do not take part in rebellious
and sinful activities.”
Hazrat Abu Bakkar Saddique Radi Allah tala Anhu
discusses the same issue in one of his address "O people
I have heard The Prophet of Allah saying, that when time will
come people witness happenings of bad deeds but they will not
try to restrain it. They will witness the cruel person torturing
others but they will not stop him, and then surely Allah will
punish them. Swear upon Allah (Exalted be He) you must invite
to good and stop from sin, otherwise, worse amongst you people
will dominate you and will torture you. Then, your saintly figures
will make prayers from Allah but would not be accepted.”
Hazrat Abu Bakkar Siddique Radi Allah tala Anhu has warned us
carefully against the consequences of not fulfilling this duty.
Holy Prophet Muhammad Sallallaho Alaihe Wasal’lim has personally
guided us that “One who does not invite to good and does
not stop from sins is not amongst us." During the times of
Hazrat Musa Alaihe Salaam, it happened that, Allah ordered Angel
Jibraeil to destroy a city completely. Angel Jibraeil visited
through the city and found one very pious person who used to keep
fast and keep bowing before Allah at days and nights. Angel Jibraeil
went back and requested Allah whether it was possible to save
the city from destruction for the sake of that pious person. Allah
replied that start destruction from that pious man’s house,
reason is that Allah (Exalted be He)’s commandments were
broken in front of him; people commit sins and ceases goodness
but that person not even slightly got bothered therefore Allah
(Exalted be He) does not need such worshipers. So, destroy city
and for most the house of that person. (keemya-e-sa’adat,
Imam Ghazali)
In the light of these facts, it is crystal clear that we must
perform this duty of inviting people to good and forbid them from
evil. Whosoever, does not perform this duty must get ready to
be accountable in the court of Allah. A real and true Muslim is
not supposed to be silent on witnessing cruelty and injustice.
Every Muslim is preacher of Islam. Let us take an oath that we
will shed even the last drop of our blood to struggle till the
implementation of Shariat-e-Muhammadiya. O servants of Prophet
Muhammad Sallallaho Alaihe Wasal’lim, Wherever you will
go you will spread obedience, meekness and piety as real Ummah
of Muhammad can not tolerate foul play anywhere in the world.
Once a person was brought to the court of Caliph
Ummar bin Khat’taab. His name was muhammad and that person
committed some blunder. The Caliph said: “Either change
your deeds positively or change your name as it is intolerable
for my ears to hear that Muhammad has committed a sin". If
you are not good enough, then do not let name of Muhammad come
on your dirty tongues. First, think, what we are called and what
do we do? Tell the world that you are pious enough to fight for
truth to prove that you came as a spring in an autumn stricken
garden and you are able to blossom fragrant flowers. Where nightingales
happily sing and moonlight brightens every nook and corner but,
infect it is not an easy task. Whosoever lightens a candle in
darkness has to face hurdles, obstacles and miseries. But We HAVE
TO CONFRONT these storms and flames of Abu Lahab. Human has only
POWER, which is Power of Faith, so enlighten candle of faith,
and defeat the Nero, The Pharaohs and Shadaad. That’s why
it is said: “Enlighten the candle of Faith. When you will
have it, no trouble will be trouble. Rise and tell the world that
we can confront the mountains of trouble by shredding them.”
And you can turn this world from hell to garden. May Allah give
us strength to reach this status by performing this sacred duty,
but first we have to realize and recognize our duty and then,
may Allah enable us to fulfill this duty,
Amen
