Major Works of Pir Muhammad Karam
Shah Al-Azhari
Judicial Services
In 1981 the Govt. Of Pakistan asked Pir Karam Shah to accept the
judgeship of Federal Shariat Court. After pondering over the offer
for a long time He R.A accepted it. He R.A was over 63 years of
age when He R.A was requested to join the Court, three years over
the retiring age of such officers. He served on the Federal Shariat
Court for about a year and Half. Then He R.A was made the judge
of the Appellate Bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
He R.A didn't accept any remuneration for his R.A services. He returned
the security guards saying that Allah is the greatest protector
of human. During His R.A years on the Appellate Bench He R.A gave
a number of decisions that necessitated amendments in the laws of
Pakistan. Most important of these judgements related to the law
of pre-emption, Agricultural reforms Compulsory retirement, Prize
Bonds etc.
Defence of the Creed of Finality
of Prophet-Hood before
the Human Rights Commission of the U.N.O
In August 1988 the Qadianis filed a petition in
the Human Rights Commission of the U.N.O against Govt. of Pakistan's
declaration of Qadianis as Non-Muslims. The Government of Pakistan
designated Justice Pir Muhammad Karam Shah Al-Azhari as Defence
Counsel to vindicate the creed of Finality of Prophet-hood before
the commission at Geneva. Justice Pir Muhammad Karam Shah was highly
successful in his R.A mission. The Panel of Judges handed down a
verdict confirming the Qadianis Non-Muslim status with only two
panel members dissenting. In defending the creed of Finality of
Prophet hood in the International Court Pir Karam Shah practically
demonstrated his zeal to preserve this creed as a spokesman for
the entire world of Islam.
Honours Conferred on Zia-ul-Ummat R.A
In appreciation of his R.A meritorious services in the academic
and religious sphere he was awarded official honours on several
occasions. A detailed list of these honours is as follows:
Sitara-e-Imtiaz
In recognition of His R.A Eminence as a scholar
and His outstanding services to Islam, the Government of Pakistan
conferred on Him the highest CIVIL AWARD, Sitara-e-Imtiaz in 1980.
Nut-al-Imtiaz
For his services to the world of Islam President
Husni Mubaarik presented him with Nut-al-Imtiaz on behalf of
the Egyptian Government on 6th March, 1993.
Sanad-e-Imtiaz
In 1994 the Government of Pakistan and the
Government of Azad Kashmir Conferred on him Sanad-e-Imtiaz for
his Excellent work on Seerat Zia-un-Nabi Sallallaho Alaihe wa
Aalehi Wasllam, the award was presented to him personally by
the prime minister of Pakistan.
Al-Dira-al-Fakhri
Dr. Ahmad Umar Hashim, rector of Jamia Al-Azhari presented
the Jamia's highest award Al-Daira-al-Fakhri to his successor
Pir Muhammad Amin-ul-Hasnaat Shah in Jamia-Al-Karam, England.
